A pudgy faced Nicole Kidman stars in this Austrailian made television mini-series as Katrina Stanton, a twenty-year-old Australian woman searching for her a father she has never met. She befriends a freelance newspaper photographer, tracks the geez to Thailand, get’s denied a meeting, tries to jump a plane and is arrested with two kilos of heroin that the photographer planted in her suitcase. Katrina is then sent to the notorious Thai prison ‘Bangkok Hilton’, where she befriends an inmate on death row for the same charge. Kidman gives her usual good performance, but this swiss cheese ridden melodrama quickly looses ones interest way before the painful four hour endurance test comes to a close. If you like to spend your Saturday nights in bed eating a quart of mint chocolate chip ice cream with your cats, then do yourself a favor and track down the Austrailian version for 30 extra life sucking minutes of affirmation.
