Eva (Irene Cara) exercises her right as a wife and accompanies her husband Eric when he is sentenced to Paradiso Island for his political crimes. Paradiso is a prison state, a tropical island whose only inhabitants are exiled convicts gone brutally native. Tribal unions rule the island as the criminals divide themselves into separate camps for a better chance of dominance and survival. Dropped on the island and separated from Eric, Eva is immediately attacked. She is rescued by a group of women, who tired of rape and the responsibility of cooking for loud burping men who don’t bathe, had created their own tribe. They teach Eva to hunt and contribute to her community. Eva finds comforts with her new found friends, especially at night when it’s time to huddle in the hut and brush each other’s hair, play with body paint and talk about men. In the meantime, Eric has lost his shoes, his water, and his shirt and is hobbling around on bloody stumps for feet. But his life soon improves and later Eric finds some friends of his own. Friends that Eric can understand - horny friends. Friends who want a utopian society and WOMEN! A campaign is waged to capture the tribe of women and a terrible bloody battle ensues that changes the lives of Eva and Eric forever. Directed by Mike Synder.
Caged in Paradiso contains no nudity, lots of references to sexual activities – but little of it, and plenty of violence utilizing primitive weapons. Tip: Avoid disappointment. Ignore the box cover art with the hot uniformed cop who looks ready to discipline with one hand on a gun and the other hand on her hip and the frills of her bra exposed. She’s not in the movie. Repeat. She’s not in the movie.
