REVIEW

After an undercover female officer tries to infiltrate a drug gang with her partner/husband, a dopey undercover cop blows their disguise, and hubby takes one in the cranium. Trying to feel distraught (pretty hard acting chore for actress Coll), the cop heads west in her car where she runs into a bunch of thugs hunting down a girl in an evening dress. The local yokel sheriff stops our heroine, and asks her to fill out a police report concerning what she saw. A mickey in the drink from the sheriff lands the leading lady behind bars in a Mexican border town prison full of innocent women being sold to the local Doc.

Seems the local Doc buys prisoners to star as leading ladies in his porno snuff films. This is the basic set-up of Lust for Freedom. It's yet another so bad it's good flick from the fine folks at Troma. Bad dubbing, cartoonish sound effects, and the typical Troma voice over add to the films charm. The dialogue is incredibly dumb, and would be best appreciated after a 12 pack of beer. My favorite line was delivered by the lead actress after the botched bust when she said, "Cops were dying everywhere, and all I could think about was being a woman." There is all kinds of priceless inane dialogue like this, further enhanced with the metal band Grim Reaper screaming cheesy songs like "Rock You To Hell" in the background.

There is nudity, but you will wish there wasn't when you see this crop of truck stop waitresses. One highlight of the film has a bloody whipping, lesbo sex, and rape all taking place at the same time with the heroine casually watching as Grim Reaper belts out more stupid lyrics. It is truly a cinematic mind fart. In typical Troma style, it all ends with a el cheapo bloody gorefest, so invite some folks over (don't forget the beer), and kill some brain cells with Lust for Freedom.
